Pajama Therapy
If you have followed my blog here at Vox, you will know I have serious issues with wearing pajamas in public. What could possibly be more traumatic to me (other than scary clowns) but a reception that I am looking forward to attending where the theme is pajamas. Ack!
In a few days I am heading to Las Vegas to attend BlogWorld and New Media Expo. Thursday night is the opening night reception and 2007 Weblog awards. I was really excited about this networking opportunity until I got the email stating the theme:
"Don't forget your PJ's: BlogWorld's Opening Reception at the Hard Rock will be the World's Largest Pajama Party!"
Say it ain't so!
The sponsor of the reception is PajamasMedia, but seriously, they don't actually expect people to attend in their pajamas, do they?!
I went shopping Friday afternoon over my lunch break to find public appropriate PJs, which, let me tell you, wasn't the easiest job. Pajama fabric is thin because you typically wear them in bed, not to a party. After almost an hour of pacing through the clothing racks, I settled on some that weren't see through and weren't racy, but I still don't think I will be able to wear them out of a hotel room.
I would like to think wearing PJs to a themed party would be like therapy for me and my pajamas in public revulsion, but perhaps I am not ready to move beyond the first step of intending to wear them out. ;)

What shoes do you wear with them ? Slippers ?

I was over at "The Joint" at Hard Rock today, checking out the video screens and finalizing some details. This club rocks, it's going to be very fun.
I'll be in the plaid PJ pants, Padres t-shirt and funny slippers (won't tell what they are, you'll have to see for yourself). :D
I was originally planning on superhero PJ's but couldn't find any with pockets (nowhere to put a cell phone, argh!)...See all of you there.
